HEAD CHEF

We currently actively recruiting a new Head Chef to take charge of our kitchen. From menu planning, pricing and, of course cooking, our new Head Chef will also have the opportunity of building their own kitchen team. We’re also happy to consider a joint venture with any chefs keen to see their own name maybe not in lights but certainly on our menu. Salary is negotiable depending on experience and all applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.

SENIOR STAFF/MANAGERS

As a 13 bedroom hotel in the beautiful East Neuk, things get pretty busy at The Bal, so 2025 will see us adding to our Senior Staff roster. We’re particularly keen to hear from applicants from a hotel background and with experience in dealing with guests bookings, admin and linen ordering/inventories.

HOUSEKEEPING

When the hotel was refurbished in 2021, the 13 guest bedrooms were designed to allow for a safer, more hygienic environment for both guests and housekeeping staff. With open wardrobes, wooden floors, walk-in showers and fresh linen delivered labelled, packed and ironed from our linen contractor, we hope we’ve covered everything to make the housekeeping roles at The Bal as problem free as possible. With a 10am start and an early afternoon finish, the hours are pretty near perfect too, especially for those with school run duties. Experience preferred but not essential, as full training will be given.

SUMMER HOLIDAY STAFF

To help our senior team, we’ll also be looking for seasonal staff during the busy summer months. Roles will include Junior Housekeeping Staff, Bar Staff, Restaurant Staff, Kitchen Porters and Junior Kitchen Staff
(we always need a top toastie maker at The Bal).
So, if you’re in Crail for the summer, at home from Uni or off school for the holidays or simply looking for some extra cash during summer, drop us a line and we can work on getting you a steady summer shift pattern at the hotel.
